Buying Organic Food But Is it Really Organic?

February 24, 2010 Organic Seeds

Are you sure that Organic food you just bought is really organic?  I wasn’t shocked at the idea that what’s on the label may not be true.  After all the “natural” food market is a cash cow (no pun intended) right now and corporations are making lots of money helping people eat healthy.  Or so we think.  Check out this video clip about a certain large supermarket chain that claims their brand is organic even labeling it “Government Certified” even though the truth is stranger than fiction.

Mind blowing huh?  How can you know if the food you buy because it says organic is really organic?  Forming your own personal relation with a local organic farmer might not be a bad idea.  Check and verify that the farm uses Organic Seeds though.  Ultimately there is no better solution and no better time than now to start growing your own organic food.

In the effort to make crops more resistant to pests and disease or more durable for the funny weather patterns we may experience keeping the nutritional value high of what you eat is a casualty of war.  The way to make sure you’re getting the most nutritious foods is to grow what you can for yourself.  In previous posts I’ve shown how organic gardening can be well worth your while & doesn’t have to be that difficult either.

So here’s your call to action in the fight for food safety and your own right to healthy & nutritious food.  Start your organic garden even if its just a few pots in a window sill.  And remember:

its not really organic if you don’t use Organic Seeds.  :-)
