Organic Seeds For Your Organic Garden
February 14, 2010 Featured, Organic Seeds
Organic seeds are vital when it comes to organic gardening. Most of the agricultural seeds on the market are not organic. So even though you may not use synthetic substances to control pests or disease in your garden there is a chance that the seeds you use are GMO or Genetically Modified Organisms.
Nowadays everyone knows the potential benefits of eating organic food. Hats off to all of you out there who are growing your own healthy food.  But unless you’re using the right seeds you may be setting yourself up for some very unhealthy consequences. Remember you are what you eat.
The first reason to be mindful of this is buying organic seeds will keep the organic seed producers in business which is very important for the health conscious gardener. Research has shown that commercial produce lacks the nutrition that organically grown produce has. The next reason is that hybrid or GMO foods allow DNA from these foods to combine with the DNA of the bacteria that live in your digestive track. In some cases these bacteria then start producing their own pesticide. IN YOU.(This point may hit you later.)
In a troubled economy one of the first things affected is the food supply. And since no studies on the long term affects of consuming GMO is done by the FDA or the companies that produce these “foods” its highly likely that if you depend on the government to feed you and your family, you will be putting your self at risk.
Taking responsibility for the health and well being of your family by using Organic Seeds in your Organic Garden. Â
